Air Raid Warning Sirens Go Off In Tel Aviv After Apparent Gaza Rocket Attack

Local media reports documented explosions in various sections of the Gaza Strip.

As of press time, it was not clear who fired the rockets. The IDF said it was investigating the cause of the latest incoming rocket alerts. "Two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory". "No interceptions were made by aerial defense systems. No damage or injuries were reported", the officials said. Five people were treated for shock by paramedics.

The IDF began striking targets in Gaza on Thursday night in retaliation to two rockets fired at Tel Aviv earlier, the IDF spokesperson said. This reporter, based on the northern Tel Aviv coastline, heard one large blast following the rocket siren.

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai ordered all public shelters opened in the wake of the attack, as did the mayors of other cities in central Israel. Follow him on Facebook.
