Liam Neeson says he's not racist, explains rage after attack

The actor Liam Neeson

John Barnes has launched an impassioned defence of Liam Neeson as the actor faces massive backlash for comments he made in a recent interview.

During the chat, Liam revealed that a female pal told him she had been raped after he returned from an overseas trip - and that he went looking to kill a "black b**tard" because of his friend's description of the alleged perpetrator. Speaking to Good Morning America, Neeson said he is not racist and that his intent to kill the "black man" who sexually assaulted his friend was stimulated purely out of the "primal urge" to stand up for his friend.

"Yes. Yes. I know", Neeson said. It shocked me when I came down ... I did seek help.

I went to my priest and had two very good friends I spoke to", he said, insisting, "I'm not racist.

- Narjas. Zatat (@Narjas_Zatat)Liam Neeson's response to a family member being raped was to walk around for a week with a crow bar so he could provoke any random Black person and commit a 'racist murder'. I remembered an incident almost 40 years ago where a dear friend of mine was brutally raped. It was a time of ethno-nationalist violence that saw Protestants and Catholics engaging in "guerrilla war" against each other for decades. One Catholic pub would be bombed and then a Protestant pub bombed. "I grew up surrounded by that, but I was never part of it".

China Greets Lunar New Year With Celebrations, Travel Rush
However, amid the ongoing trade tensions and economic strains, Chinese market gains have been capped. "That number today is 33%".

The think-tank vice chair said: "I'd like him to go and understand the experience of black people walking about, there are all sorts of schemes and activities out there".

"Oh, definitely", Neeson replied. "When I eventually thought, 'What the f*** are you doing?', you know?" "But that primal need, I understand". That's why it kind of shocked me when I came down to earth after having these awful feelings.

"Luckily no violence occurred", he said, adding that he likely would have attacked and possibly killed a man if confronted. You think he's done this because he wants to promote a film?

Neeson answered, "Yes. Yes". At one point, he referred to somebody as a "black b*****d". And I admit that. "It's a learning curve". Talk about these things. To open up. We all like to pretend we're politically correct in this country.in mine, too. You sometimes just scratch the surface and you discover this racism and bigotry and it's there. Whether or not it's career-ending, I think it's up to the studios and moviegoers to tell.

"Now if you listen to everything he's talking about, he's talking about in the moment and you can't blame Liam Neeson for thinking what he feels, and this is a while ago, because this is what society has shown him that black people do, Muslims do".
