Lions kill suspected rhino poachers in South Africa

Alleged rhino poachers mauled to death by lions in South Africa

"Whilst we are saddened at any loss of life the poachers came here to kill our animals and this sends out a very clear message to any other poachers that you will not always be the victor".

These lions mauled to death alleged rhino poachers in South Africa.

In 2016, poachers hacked off the horns and killed three rhinos at the Sibuya Game Reserve.

A ranger taking guests at the Sibuya Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape on a safari drive on Tuesday afternoon discovered human remains close to a pride of lions.

At least three men made their way onto the Sibuya Game Reserve in the early hours of the morning on Monday.

"The anti-poaching unit never suspected anything wrong because it was the lions making noise and not the rhinos", Fox said.

Nick Fox, the owner of the reserve, said in a statement that the group of poachers were armed with a high-powered rifle with a silencer, an axe, wire cutters and other weapons.

Speaking after the game, Kane said: 'We looked composed. "I'm not sure if Kevin knew who Kyle was at the time, ' said Reid". The likes of Maguire, a paying punter like the rest only two years ago, are changing that dynamic.

Poaching, Fox said, is "becoming more and more common in the area" because rhino horns are coveted and believed to be "more valuable than gold".

Police are investigating the incident to find out exactly how many poachers were killed. These things usually carry hunters of the rhinoceros that killed them and cut off their horns. Fox said the lions' behavior appeared no different than ever and that the lions "view a game-viewing vehicle containing people as something entirely different from individuals who are walking on the ground".

The lions were shot with tranquilizer darts to protect reserve employees and police who were involved in the recovery effort on Wednesday.

Police have been patrolling the area in case any of the suspected poachers survived.

"Although we will continue to be extremely vigilant we remain positive that this incident will not necessitate any changes to the status quo", he said.

Three rhinos were killed in nearby Port Alfred in May 2018, raising the total of illegal rhino killings in the province to nine for the year.
